The Weather Outside Was Frightful...
But the Boating is Now So Delightful!

Cold weather was bound to break soon enough, and WCM wants to make sure you're prepared to take advantage when it's gone for good. We'd love to have you join us at the San Diego Boat show at Sunroad Marina, January 24-27. Stop by to check out the latest in brokerage and new offerings from the premier multihull dealer on the west coast. The FP Lipari 41 will be on hand, as well as popular models from Corsair and Weta.

As always, there will be a great mix of excellent food and drink from our local restaurants, and boat demos and rides for kids and adults. Don't miss out!

She's No Lady!? Speak for Yourself!

It wasn't long after Thad and Kristin Nelson moved to San Diego that they knew they needed to spend more time out on the water. And a powerboat wasn't going to cut it. "There's something about cutting the engine, and experiencing the rush of water," explained Thad, recalling day sails aboard a friend's 37 foot monohull. "I couldn't get it out of my head." He didn't know at the time that they'd end up on a Lipari 41, but figured that lessons were a good place to start.

Classes through WCM got Thad all learned up and ready to go, but Kristin wasn't necessarily sold until the Catalina Rally last August. The social gatherings ashore, her first night aboard, the adventurous race/rally, and the huge raft up in Cat Harbor really opened her eyes to the lifestyle and fun that a catamaran might offer.

A charter trip to the BVI last fall allowed for a bit more time, and too much fun, aboard an FP Orana 44. This helped solidify Thad's opinion of FP in general, and the Lipari in particular. And the BVI? Yeah, they'll be back.

But it was helping to deliver the Lipari back from the Long Beach boat show that clinched it for Kristin, as it was clear how easy the boat was to handle, and she found herself staying up for three watches in a row, too fascinated to sleep. They were hooked.

So now we welcome She's No Lady to the WCM Family Fleet, and Thad and Kristin Nelson to the ever-growing community of sailors who have found their passion, and a path to fulfilling their sailing desires, through West Coast Multihulls. May she be everything you hoped for. Cheers!
