The Team at West Coast Multihulls Wishes You all a Merry Christmas and the Best for 2012
It's been an exciting year at West Coast Multihulls, with the opening of West Coast Multihulls Charter and Sailing School, the best ever Catalina Rally, and scores of new and old sailors taking their first steps on a cat or tri.
Our affiliation with the American Sailing Association has created an avenue for over one hundred folks to get their sailing resumés topped up, and inspired some to purchase a new or brokerage boat from our professional staff here at WCM.
The move to our new location at Shelter Cove Marina has proven to be a good one. With only a gangway between the office and our boats, our students, charterers and potential clients are only seconds away from their next sailing adventure or new cruising cat.
Following are some the highlights of our incredible year here at WCM, a look into what the future holds for 2012, and some of the special offerings for those wanting to close out the year with a purchase of one of our exceptional brokerage or new boat values.
Once again, the staff at West Coast Multihulls wishes all our clients and friends a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Open House, June 2011
Over 200 people joined us to celebrate the opening of our new office and premiere Shelter Island location for the New Charter operation and Sailing School.
Boat rides, hot dogs and some local music talent made for an incredible day of meeting new friends and catching up with local industry friends.
Catalina Rally, August 2011
Eleven catamarans and over 50 sailors converged on the Isthmus at Two Harbors, Catalina for four days of fun, camaraderie, food and more.
The largest rally ever for WCM, this year's event brought together the most diverse group of catamaran sailors ever. Some had never sailed on an overnight passage, some had never been to Catalina, some were getting their ASA certifications while experiencing cruising for the first time. We've all heard of study abroad programs, but I think this was a first - study aboard! Everyone passed and are ready to sign up for next year's event!
The theme for this year's beach party was "A Three Hour Tour" aka "Return to Gilligan's Island" Needless to say, some heads were turned at the dingy dock and pier as the night's participants arrived. The pictures pretty much tell the story! (see more on facebook!)
Ginger or Mary Ann – you decide!
Corsair Performance Clinic
Our own Mat Bryant put together an incredible 3 days of classroom and on-the-water training for a wide range of Corsair sailors - some wannabe's and another group of Corsair owners looking to hone their skills and get that extra knot or two out of their own boats.
They came from as far away as New York and Vancouver BC, Canada, with a few of our local owners participating as well. The weather held off for the most part, with a finish on Saturday in the pouring rain. Sunday cleared up nicely and some of the participants were able to join us on one of the charter cats for a close up view of the AC 45 races going on in the bay. (see below)
America's Cup World Series 45 Races
"That was.... uh.... Wow." Pretty much sums it up. The AC 45 races here in San Diego left a lot of people speechless. This was sailboat racing of a kind never seen before, and it definitely lived up to the hype, even if the weather didn't.
WCM charterers, guests, family and friends were out on the water in force for three of the 6 days of racing, taking in the action from the decks of a few of our big cats. Smiles were broad as many of the competing boats swooped by at breakneck speed and we could hear the calls of the crew. FANtastic!
Rumor has it there might be a couple of San Diego events on the schedule for 2012, so keep in touch, especially if you missed out this time around. And catch some of the action at the AC YouTube channel here.
Of course, all this does is get everyone fired up for the actual America's Cup in 2013. Who's ready for a road trip!?
