Rod Jones comes to West Coast Multihulls with both a very diverse background in sailing, and taste in boats. Rod grew up sailing on San Francisco Bay before moving to Southern California. He owned a day sail charter business in San Diego for 16 years.

After Rod sold “Discover Sailing”, he purchased a Seawind 1000 catamaran, sailed it through Latin America, ultimately ending up day chartering and living in Costa Rica. Rod and his wife Angie have also cruised long term on their Valiant 42 and Bristol Channel Cutter. Rod has also raced Corsair trimarans, Nacra catamarans, International 14s, J-boats as well as many other types of sailboats over the years.

This range of experience puts Rod in a great position to help buyers find just the right boat for their needs. He loves the hunt for the perfect boat, and has been known to fly around the country in the search. As an ASA cruising instructor and Coast Guard Master, he also enjoys helping new owners get comfortable handling their new boats after purchase.

Years ago Mat Bryant accepted a job at UK Sails as a Sail Consultant and was introduced to Corsair Marine and their trimarans. As soon as Mat stepped foot on a Corsair 24 and raced in a San Diego Beer Can he saw the potential for these boats and was hooked, looking for more.

Mat was put in charge of re-designing UK Sails factory direct sales to Corsair and spent time further developing the racing products. In 2003 North Sails offered Mat a job which he gladly accepted and took the knowledge gained about Corsair boats with him. Seeing the need for higher quality sails in the Corsair fleet, he began to develop North Sails deigns for all the Corsair models. A fringe benefit of his new position was Mat's development as a professional level racing sailor, travelling to many regattas around the world. Mat's racing experience includes a range from inshore one-design racing in Melges 24 to offshore racing on boats up to 130 feet, including 5 Transpacs. His successes are numerous and varied.

For Mat, West Coast Multihulls has been a natural fit; his deep knowledge of the Corsair Trimarans and love for Multihulls makes for excellent service and the ability to answer almost any technical question. Mat is committed to helping people make their nautical dreams become a reality on the water.
